Bleeding before period??

I’ve been bleeding a little bit the past 2 days and I’m a week away from my period. I’ve been on the same birth control pill for 4 years and NEVER get breakthrough bleeding. It’s not super heavy, it’s very light. The first day it was a dark red/brown color and today, it’s bright red with some light pink … doesn’t look like my normal period at all.

So I’m bleeding a week before my period… it’s a weird color… and I have been super emotional as well as cramping.

All of this is not normal for me. Anyone know what could be going on???
