How do I love from afar?

My old best friend and I don't talk anymore, and I'm really starting to get what people mean when they talk about the 1st wlw heartbreak. I didn't even date her, and I've still been heartbroken for the past year. I still love her, and I don't know what to do with that. How (and I mean this genuinely), do I love someone from afar?

I feel this so much, this happened to me before as well. What I can say, is it gets easier with time. You’re grieving someone you cared about, and that’s okay. Treat this like how you would anytime you lose something or someone important. Take time to grieve your heart, take time to heal. Distract yourself and keep yourself motivated by being busy but also remember don’t put off how you’re feeling. Writing can help, going on walks to clear your head also. And talk to your friends or anyone else close about what you’re going through, support from others is important too. I still to this day I remember her and care as deeply as I did before, but it took time for that love to change into just caring about them as a person and wishing them well, always. You’ll be okay, I promise. Just remember take it easy, do what you need to do for yourself, and be the best version of yourself that you can be. You’ll be proud to see how much you’ve grown in the future, wish you the best!!
