Boys an size?!

So my son is going on 5 months an he seems to be a normal sized baby but most the clothes he wear has to be a bigger Month size is that normal? I like giving him a little room to grow but he can fit 9 months onesies almost perfectly he is 16 pounds so he is not overweight but he does seem solid an a little chunky please if anyone can tell me if he is supposed to wear bigger clothes?

I also know that how Carter's, for example, sizes their clothing is more of an upper limit. Like 6m would be more like 3-6 and 9m would be like a 6-9m.

Baby clothing sizes are all over the place. They vary so much between brands too. My almost 4 month old is in 12m pants but 6-9 tops in most brands. He is chunky (particularly at the waist) but also very long.

My son is 5 months and wears a size 12m because he’s a chunky boy lol but anything that fits your son should be okay! I think something that’s not too big to the point it’s excessively loose and something that’s not too tight😊
