August as a girl name?

I want to name my baby August if it's a boy but my hubby wants him to be Michael Jr. I really love the name August though. My hubby said if it's a girl I can name her but Ive never heard of this name for a girl. What do you guys think?

I know a girl who was named August by her birth mother before she was put up for adoption. She was adopted, but her adoptive parents changed her first name, but made her  middle name August as a reminder. I always thinks it's so sweet!

Maybe Autumn might be a comparable female alternative? I love the name August, too, though my husband also doesn't like it. I couldn't personally see myself use it as a girls name, but I wouldn't say it couldn't be used as a girls name either. I could see it being cute for a girl too!

August has been one of my favorite names for a very long time. My husband is very against it so I'll never use it but I always planned on using it for a girl! It means "majestic" if you didn't know ☺️❤️
