Brown blood only? Help!

Ok, so last night I went to the bathroom and wiped pink. My period was due three days ago so I put my cup in before bed assuming it was my period. This morning my cup was almost empty and for 12 hours today the cup has only a very small amount in it. The thing I'm concerned with is all of the blood has been dark brown and this has NEVER happened. I know it means old blood but if it's the start of a period it shouldn't be dark brown should it? Is it actually a normal thing or should I be concerned? Also, I have been on antibiotics this month so could this be implant bleeding even though I was also on BC all month? TIA!
