Would you consider this cheating ?

So I work with a lot of men and probably have a more open group of friends than my SO. I once commented that one of the men I work with was very good looking but knew he got with a lot of women. Recently he's been messaging me. Just small talk I try not to respond but is awkward if I don't because we work together. My so saw a message and got really upset (it was just the other guy messaging me I hadn't replied). Today the guy messaged me again asking me out on a date and saying what he thought of me and I can't help but feel terrible for replying. It's awkward because if I don't respond it's awkward in work and by responding I could be potentially showing interest even while keeping things short.

If he asked you on a date you should say no, I have a boyfriend..  Then it is not cheating..  Seems like you are avoiding disappointing him which is weird if your in a committed relationship

It depends on how you respond.. What you should do is respond to him asking for him only to message if it is work related, that you are in a relationship and are not interested in him that way.

If you respond encouraging him, then yes, cheating.

It depends on how you respond. If you let him know that you are already in a relationship and are just friends than no. But if you say anything different one it's misleading and could be considered cheating and at the least emotionally cheating on your SO

I think if you have to ask yourself if it is cheating it is already in your "morally wrong" scope. And the situation should be avoided. However you could just respond saying you are flattered, however are in a happy committed relationship.

It could QUICKLY turn into cheating, you need to shut him down now. Tell him you are in no way interested in going on a date with him, and if he makes the work place sexually awkward you tell him to man up and accept being turned down.
