BLIGHTED OVUM

Hello, I was unfortunately just diagnosed with a blighted ovum. My gestational sac was growing, but nothing was growing inside. :( This is my first pregnancy. My doctor will be calling me tomorrow with my options but i was wondering if anyone who has sadly experienced the same thing has any input. (If you have, i'm so sorry.) We have suspected this for a couple weeks now and this last ultrasound confirmed nothing else is growing in the sac.

I don't want to keep waiting since my body isn't expelling the tissue itself. I'm not sure if my best option is a D&C or medication to help the process along? Also adding that we would like to start trying again as soon as we are given the green light by my doctor. Thank you.
