Adding cinnamon to puree?

My baby starts solids tomorrow. I decided on sweet potato purée with formula milk added. Is it okay to add a dash of cinnamon? Or should I hold off on spices

You can add spices! Best to avoid adding sugar and salt, but otherwise go for it. Babies don’t want bland food any more than adults do!

Yes! Add spices! Just limit salt intake. 
Babies do not and should not be given bland food only.
I gave my daughter avocado toast with salt free everything bagel seasoning at 6m old. She still loves EBS at 2. 
I gave my son steak that was cooked in a coffee rub. 
Cinnamon, nutmeg, and all spice almost always goes in their pancakes!

You should really focus on one food each week in case of allergies. So if she does well with the sweet potatoes, add cinnamon next week. ￼

Sweet potato is already sweet. I’d start with just that by itself. If you add to it and there’s a reaction, you won’t know what the reaction is to.
