Working out, yay or nay? Thoughts?

I've always been "thick" my whole life and during my wedding (Dec. 2014) I was working out regularly weighing around 150lbs. I'm 5'6" and curvy so my weight is distributed proportionately but I never got to super slim & trim level. POST WEDDING, I definitely enjoyed the newlywed life and gained close to 25lbs because I stopped working out & hubby and I were eating out all the time. I just found out I'm pregnant and 180lbs. 
According to this app, I'm 6 weeks exactly. I have not seen a doctor YET but what are thoughts about re-incorporating working out & cardio? Obviously because of my post wedding weight gain, I'm a bit nervous about pregnancy weight gain too! I'd like to limit weight gain as much as possible, keeping in mind, goals to have a very healthy newborn. 
Thoughts?!
