just tell them y’all are together and he helps but y’all don’t make enough to afford daycare. you can deny services of child support but some only allow services if he does get on child support

When I worked with the family & social services in my state, any time a single parent (non married) applied for a program called TANF, the parent was obligated to file for child support. Granted, this was a program through government assistance and receiving TANF would qualify the individual for child care quicker than attempting to get it without applying for it due to the wait list was so long. As for the child care voucher outside of that program, the qualifications for it are likely dependent on your state.
