Time in NICU?

I’m 35 5 right now and we got our last ultrasound on Friday. They said baby is measuring 6lbs 10oz already and might induce me. I’m hoping baby wants to make an appearance on their own! If baby came this week would they have to spend time in the NICU? My first was born at exactly 39 weeks at 7lbs 5oz!

They’re talking about inducing you this week and only because of what the baby is measuring? Those measurements can definitely be off and you can decline induction if you’re not comfortable with it.

I had my twins at 35+5. One was 4lbs 15oz and needed 24 hours nicu stay with 4 hours of cpap. Other baby was 5lbs 2oz and had zero nicu stay. We all went home 2 days later. 
Definitely ask questions about being induced as the size of the baby really isn’t a good enough reason. Either way, good luck ❤️

Growth scans in late pregnancy are very inaccurate. I had a scan at 34 weeks (twin pregnancy) and both babies were measuring about 5.5lbs. 
I gave birth at 37+5 and each baby was 5lb 11oz and 5lb 15oz. 
Nearly 4 weeks after my growth scan and they ended up weighing only a little more than what they “weighed” at 34 weeks,  
I would ask some more questions about why they want to induce.

Late ultrasounds are notoriously inaccurate, can be off by two pounds. Women give birth to “big babies” all the time and it is not a reason for an induction or c section. At 35w I’d be furious that induction was being mentioned personally.

They're estimating that my baby is big too. I actually have to go for a growth scan tomorrow at 28 weeks and then they'll just keep an eye on things. If they give me an option to induce at 38 weeks im definitely doing it lol . Ive been induced twice before for high blood pressure.
