They don’t want to know anything

Sa

So my husband and I are expecting our second baby. We had the option this time to find out the gender by doing the maternity21 test because I’m 36. My parents didn’t find out what they were having when they had my half brother. So each pregnancy they’ve been all over me with waiting and not finding out.

We did anyways because WE wanted to. So today I got the test results and this was the convo between my Dad and I.

Me: “We got the gender results for the baby. You guys going to be available for a phone call when (Stepmom) gets home from work?”

Dad: “Sure but we like to be surprised...”

Me: “So you guys don't want to know at all? Gonna be hard to avoid once I post it on online.”

Dad: “I'll just avoid looking I guess.”

I was so excited to tell them and after that I don’t know what to say. I mean it wasn’t mean but I really deflated the whole special part of telling them.

I think this needs to be added. Like I said each pregnancy they've been pushy about us not finding out and don’t like that we do. My Dad says "if God in his infinite wisdom wanted to not be a surprise then he would have made it so”. They believe you should be surprised by the gender because not knowing makes you work that much harder in labor. That you push harder and everything because you want to know what it is.
