Cereal in your babies bottle?

How many mommies are putting cereal in their babies bottles? How old is your baby and how much are you putting in it?

My pediatrician suggested I put a teaspoon of rice cereal in 2 oz of formula to help with my 3 month old acid reflux. I use Nuk bottles/nipples. The smallest one works fine for this. The cereal gets through. It helps with reflux.

I heard its best to spoon feed instead of putting in the bottle, because of a choking hazard.

Going on 11 weeks, I use the formula scoop and put a scoop for every 2 oz of formula, so 1 scoop of formula, 1 scoop of cereal

My daughter I put in the bottle at 2 months because of acid reflux and she was fine . My son is 4 months and still won't even take the rice he hates it .

I just started feeding my 19week cereal but I'm not putting it in his bottle I'm spoon feeding. Dr advised us it was very unsafe to do that.

If they who is on the thickened  piece o cereal while drinking it especially if they have reflux it can cause them.go choke on  the formula while lying down. every baby is different.. I would rather you spoon feed or get an actually formula thickening gel from your pediatrician. I was prescribed that for my son and it helping him keep down the formula safely

My first I started putting it in her bottle at night between 3 or 4 weeks old. I didn't put very much I can't remember the exact amount. Just a tiny bit to help fill her up. And she started sleeping all night when I did that

My son is three months tbr I started putting rice or oatmeal  in his bottle since he was two months old. But I put like half a tea spoon for a 4oz bottle.

I do because my daughter has reflux. She was projectile vomiting, and the cereal helps weigh formula down. If your baby needs it, ask their pediatrician for a recommended amount.
