Stopped BC/ now I'm confused

So I stopped taking my BC around Christmas. I wasn't supposed to start my period until the middle of January. I started on the first and had very light bleeding. Then I had one day of a normal period. Then it just stopped. My periods are usually a week long. I just don't know if that was a period or just considered spotting. We are TTC so I'm trying to figure out my cycles. Can anyone help???
