Am I being overly sensitive or was her comment snobby?

My dad and I were shopping in Walmart and a lady walked by with her baby in a stroller. My dad loves babies and said something like "What aisle did you find this precious little one in?" And the lady kind of laughs and says "Oh she's not store bought, she's homemade!" They both laugh, and she goes on her way.

I have struggled for years to get pregnant and I found her comment low key disgusting. Like, isn't it ok if a baby is adopted or conceived using IVF? Why do you have to run it in our faces that your baby is superior because it's "homemade"?

My dad says I am overthinking the whole thing. It was just a clever comeback to a silly question. Maybe so, but she could have just played along and said "in the baby aisle". Why did she have to make such a big deal that her baby was homemade?

My husband and I have remortgaged our house to try and have a baby and I am still not pregnant but everyone around me seems to be getting pregnant so easily. Then there's me spending tens of thousands trying to get pregnant and NOTHING. I just wish people were a little more mindful when they say stuff because you don't know what people are going through.
