When is your first appt and first Ultrasound

So the OB office scheduled me for my first prenatal appt in January and I’ll be 11 weeks. She said the first ultrasound would be scheduled after that. Seems so far away… is this normal? I can’t remember with my last pregnancy but I thought it was sooner. Also I’ll be 40 when I deliver so I’m super anxious.

Mine were always booked for around 8 weeks. Got an ultrasound & bloodwork/checkup. 
With my 3rd I wasn't seen until 14 weeks because of an insurance issue but it was fine.

I was 13 weeks when i got my first appointment and they scheduled me an ultrasound that week, they usually do it 8-12 but they were just so busy. I had an elective ultrasound at 6 weeks at a private clinic!

My OB does first appointments anywhere 8-10 weeks but I’ve always had an ultrasound done at that first appointment.

10-12.weeks.have always been my 1st actual appt. That way they can do appt/maternal blood panel/ultrasound/nipt if desired in 1 appt instead of me having to come in a few times. A blood test to confirm pregnancy usually happened  but that was at a lab. If I ever would have been worried, had spotting, felt off, was just stressed, weird number with confirm lab, etc my ob would have seen me no issue but the standard was 10-12 weeks.
