Ectopic or possibly twins?

Hey ladies so I had my period two weeks ago. I took a test before my period and it came up negative. Just a day before my period initially started. I went in the the ER yesterday due to heart burn and being sick, turns out I am pregnant with almost 2000 level of hormones. Which makes no sense to me. They tried saying it's possibly an ectopic pregnancy and demanded I went into surgery. I denied and asked for the actual OB to look into it, they have me coming back in Sunday for more blood work and tests. Has anyone had a misdiagnosed ectopic ? Could this be twins and just early due to the levels ? They didn't find any evidence of the baby anywhere. I know for a fact I had my period. I'm very lost.

With levels of 2000 they should have been able to see the gestational sac. If they have done a vaginal ultrasound and not been able to locate the sac in the uterus then it does sound like it's ectopic.

This just happened to my best friend. Got a “period” and everything and it was an ectopic she needed emergency surgery

Hopefully it's not an ectopic but with those levels and not finding anything, it could be. When I had mine my doctor told me that I could've mistaken my period as well, specially because when mine ruptured it looked like I was much further along than I thought.

I don’t want to scare you, but tell you about my experience that sounds just like this. My first pregnancy was in 2017.. my levels were more than doubling, they were actually tripling, but nothing could be seen on the ultrasound until the last one I had to confirm that it was in fact an ectopic pregnancy located in my left tube. I had 2 doses of methotrexate. I also had bleeding with it.

Sounds like you didnt have your period and it was actually just peegnancy bleeding. Im not sure why youre thinking twins at all? But no. Youre likely just very early and had some bleeding. Go in a couple weeks and get another ultrasound.
