First time IVF (ICSI) did not go to plan
A little history, ive been TTC since 2017 - firstly with a donor friend (no success). Secondly with a (different) donor via IUI - 2x chemical, 1x pregnancy that resulted in 19w loss.
My current partner and I were dating at the time of that loss and after 2 years together (and no success naturally) had our first round of IVF.
We got a call from the lab post egg retrieval (12 eggs, amazing!) however they advised something wasnt quite right and moved to ICSI.
From the ICSI cycle we only had 3 of 10 fertilise. None of those developed well by day 3.
The best on day 3, was a 5 cell embryo that we had transferred. We named it DUD-ly.
We later got a call from the lab who ran some additional tests and found an issue with the media used. They've offered us another cycle at no out of pocket cost.
I have so many mixed emotions about going through another round of IVF, and we are still in a 2WW with DUD-ly.
Has anyone had luck with a 5 cell embryo making it to pregnancy? When would you test from home and potentially have a positive result?
