No goals?

I have a FWB that turned into something more serious. I never cared about what he did for a living since I didn't think we'd turn into a relationship. He treats me really well and loves me. The only con I'm starting to realize is that he doesn't sound like he has goals. He doesn't have a consistent job. He says he invests in stocks and helps his friend with his business. Not sure how much he makes overall. Im a nurse so I have a stable income and support myself. I don't know. I guess I'm realizing it does matter to me what he does and if he's making enough.

I had told him what I wanted to do today and he told me he doesn't want to spend much and he's broke. I felt that it was a turn off for me. I know money isn't everything. He's also an active part in his family. He helps them and drives them to places they need. He's definitely caring.

Anyone have any advice ? Am I wrong for thinking this way?

I'm 24 and he's 26.
