Was triplets, now twins????

Ok… so my results from my ultrasound today. The yellow is the part that’s confusing. Is it saying I have an extra placenta and no baby there? They told me during ultrasound that it appears there was a fraternal triplet that we lost early on. But that it shouldn’t effect the identical twin boys. However, they did not tell me that there was a 2nd placenta with no baby in me. My never appointment is in 2 weeks for a 16 week scan to start watching for TTTS, I may just wait to ask them about this placenta during that appointment or maybe I’ll call them sooner then that? I’m not sure. But I am concerned. Is this lonely placenta going to need removed? I’ve never heard of losing a twin, triplet, and the placenta just left in there? Shouldn’t that be a problem? I would think… but they didn’t say that so maybe not? Has anyone heard of this or had this happen? All they told me was that since it was a fraternal twin and had its own sack and placenta that it “shouldn’t” interfere with the identical twins that are sharing a placenta. That’s just wild to me 😬
