Or is it better to get to know the guy before getting into a relationship? If you have sex with a guy right away will he want a relationship if you ask for one or is it better to know him better?

I feel like in most cases if you have sex with a guy right away, it isn’t going to turn into a relationship. Obviously this isn’t always the case, but it’s hard to know if a guy is really invested in you & getting to know you or just wants sex from you, if you jump right into it. I would personally take the time to get to know him first, if you are looking for something serious & long term.

The whole point of friends with benefits is to be able to have sex with no strings attached.. no romantic feelings involved. If you go into a friends with benefits relationship hoping to be with the person romantically, you are just going to wind up getting hurt. Just don’t even try. If you actually are into someone and want romantic feelings to evolve, that needs to be known from the start. And it doesn’t always matter if you wait for sex or not. Sometimes people have sex right away and last forever, sometimes they don’t last long at all.
