Baby not nursing from mastitis breast?

I have mastitis in my right breast. I started antibiotics last night. Anyway, my daughter refuses to nurse on that side. If she’s really tired she’ll nurse on that side for a few minutes then come off and cry until I give her the other side. Has anyone else experienced this?

If this was from a clogged duct it creates inflammation and it can make the milk taste salty according to a lactation consultant I worked with. Best to keep milk moving (hand express, pump, haakaa). Mastitis is the worst.

Yep my baby could tell too if I pumped and gave her a bottle of that milk she was fine. After the antibiotics kicked in and it got better she was back to nursing normally

Try to hand express some before latching. It’s likely too full and hard for her to get a good latch.
