Should my bf help me with my car

My car is older and always has issues. I really want to get a new one

When I tell my bf about my car, he doesn’t seem to care. I’m not use to men acting that way, since I was raised in a family where the man fixes the cars.

I don’t have the money to take it to a shop. So I finally asked my mom if my stepdad can look at it and try to fix it.

I told my bf that’s what I would do and said that’s nice.

Idk I feel like my bf should want to fix it or help me pay for it to get fixed.

There are certain things I try to help him with and I would embarrassed if he went to his mom instead of me for.

My bf has the money and he also is into cars. He recently just bought himself a fancy vehicle.
