Is it possible to lose your mucus plug 3 times over the course of a few weeks??

I don’t know how quickly it regenerates but since around 33/34 weeks (I can’t remember exactly) I’m pretty sure I lost it 3 times! I’m 36 +2 currently and lost it again this morning when I wiped. Every time I thought I lost it it was a thick stringy piece of mucus that was a tad bit yellow and was like 2 inches long. So I’m fairly sure but kinda uncertain if that makes sense? I’ve also been having some contractions here and there. The first one was a few days ago and was just one. Last night from about 1:30-3/4 am I had 3 contractions but they were very far apart over the span of those hours. Haven’t had any since though so I’m thinking it’s prodromal labor. I didn’t experience prodromal labor with my first pregnancy so this is new to me. Thoughts?
