I have just done it. The process can seem slightly scary, especially once you are in it, because of all the hormones you have to take to stimulate the ovaries. The results vary. I was told that the best age to do it is if you are under 35 and then you can expect to freeze 10-20 viable eggs. I am 33 and although all my prior test suggested that I am healthy and my ovaries work fine I managed to freeze 4 viable eggs in this one cycle. I must say I was disappointed at first, but I have learnt to accept that perhaps the medication which was used to stimulate my ovaries wasn’t as effective on me and perhaps if I was to do it again it could be tailored better which would produce better results. It is a pricey procedure so I will not be repeating it again straight away, maybe at a later stage. They do say that you’d need about 10 frozen eggs to try and have one baby. It is very much a numbers game. Fewer lottery tickets you have fewer chances to win so to speak.
