Red circular spots on 4 month old

I noticed a few days back my son had a red circular rash like spot on his thigh and tonight I notice they are everywhere on him! He has two on each arm and four on his stomach. I thought they were ringworm but it doesn't have a ring around it, the whole spot is red and dry looking. What could this be? He has an appointment Thursday but I want to know what it is now so I can treat it.
