How long is too long for a period?

I've been on nexplanon for something like 4 years, replacing it as needed. Recently my periods have been super abnormal. The last time I called my gyno abt it she said everything is normal on birth control. But my period has been going on 15 days, soaking through tampons completely in 2-3 hours, no sign of coming to an end. I'm even having cramps still. It's making me feel so tired and just generally unwell.

Should I call for an exam? Would my gyno even listen?

Should I get it removed? Is there something I can do to get it to stop?
