Depends how old you are. If you are a minor. Under 21. There’s a difference between a 10 year old dating a 20 year old. Verses a 40 year old dating a 60 year old. Or 50 year old. When you are older it doesn’t matter. I dated a man 16 years older than me when I was 40. I had known him over 20 years. Had he tried to date me when I was 20 I would have looked at him like he was a creepy old man. We had nothing in common. His kids were young. I wasn’t looking to mother or babysit his kids. Now that I’m 40 well 45, his kids are grown and out of the house we have a lot in common. Both homeowners and business owners looking to enjoy life and not start all over again with kids. It’s timing. Maturity. Where you are in life. When you are 18 and your partner is 30 do you know how embarrassing it is to say I’m sorry I can’t go my partner isn’t old enough. And why can’t a 30 year old find someone his own age. They don’t take him seriously because he doesn’t have his life together? He’s looking to use and take advantage of someone younger and impressionable, naive, and tells her what she wants to hear? Women his own age are looking for stability? He’s got issues? Still lives in his mom’s basement and plays video games all day. If I’m 40 and he’s 30 and can’t keep a job, who is looking for what a place to live to get away from his moms. Or a car. Or whatever else he can use me for nope. It’s where people are in life. Someone can be 23, focused. Have a good job. I’ve met state police at 23. Or my brother for example was 23 in secret service. Got married at 27. People can have their life in order at a young age just the same as someone cannot have their life in order at an older age my other brother is now 50 and lives in ny basement, plays video games all day and does nothing. It’s where you are in life. Who you are. What your intentions are. It doesn’t matter when you are older. It matters big time when you are younger. A minor with an adult. A newly 18 or 20 year old with a 30-40 year old. What does a fresh out of high school kid have in common with a 30 or 40’year old. Sure it happens. But usually doesn’t last. Or there’s issues if it does last. He’s controlling. Manipulative etc. best bet is to use common sense.

Completely depends on the age of the people involved. For me personally, I can’t see myself being with someone more than ~5 ish years different from my own age. For reference, I’m 32 and so is my husband. I like that we are the same age and graduated hs and college the same years.

Depends on how old you are. If you’re older than 30, who cares about age gaps? If you’re younger, like 18, an age gap is gonna be a lot more problematic and creepy
