Husband
How can I teach my husband to listen to me when I’m emotionally expressing? Example, I got some psychiatric assessment results and k was discouraged with the outcome. I got teary eyed and told my husband I was sad and overwhelmed. He looked at me, didn’t say a word, then started doing dishes.
I felt rejected. And that my problems are too big. I went into our bedroom to cry. He came in and said he was sorry I am going through something difficult. I don’t want him to pity me. I just wanted a hug…. I told him what I was frustrated about. He apologized and said he wants to be available for me. But he says that but he never is. His reaction is always the same.
What can I do to help him??
He’s learning emotional regulation himself. He grew up in a “no emotion” household.
I’m just like… what am I supposed to do?
It’s not like I’m screaming and sobbing at him. I’m just crying lightly. Idk guys. Anyone else been in the same place? What helped you?
