We are talking about shopping for things for YOU makeup/hair/nails/decor, I see some women say they ask them for money to go shopping.

If you are like the woman on this app, who was upset her husband didn't give her $4000 to go shopping, you should definitely ask before spending (unless you are millionaires)
If you are a responsible spender, then no, no need to ask.

Yea ask but it’s not like “ please give me money sir 🥺” it’s more like “ hey I want to buy ( 8 don’t get makeup or do my hair or nails so used other example) this silverware is that ok? Or are you planning on making a big purchase this month? And he’ll say “ yea that’s fine.” Sometimes my husband even though I don’t make money at the time asks if he can buy something for his hobby. I sometimes say “ I wouldn’t recommend it because of certain bills that I noticed and that I still need to get groceries.” that’s our dynamic.

I ask but my husband also asks me too. It’s out of respect and love for one another. It’s our money. If I’m getting something like a coffee or something small, no I don’t ask- but if I’m needing to spend more than $20 then yes, I ask.

I’ll run it by him if it’s more than like 200$ but no I don’t ask him for it. It’s my money too. I work for that money. I clean the house, wash his underwear, take care of the kids, cook dinner, get the food and so forth. If I wasn’t around he’d have to PAY someone else to do that. Most of the time Nannie’s and chefs and shit don’t need to ask to get paid. The person just pays them. If you have to ask to get paid…. Find a different job.. cough cough… man.

No. If it's over $100 of nonessential items then my husband and I talk about it. We're minimalistic financially and live simply as we really enjoy a more simple lifestyle so we don't enjoy having a ton of random stuff. We just don't do random spending or big spending. Talking about it is more of a courtesy as we prefer to always be on the same page financially. For example it's getting hot already where we live so our oldest needed a summer wardrobe since she sized up. I sent him a text today as a heads up to let him know how much I planned on spending to keep him in the loop. I never ask as he's not my dad that I'm needing to borrow money from. He's my partner, my other half, so all money is OUR money.
