Another anatomy scan?

At 21 weeks I had my anatomy scan but didn't get to meet with my OBGYN because they were so booked. Well she ended up calling me telling me I need to come in for another scan in 1-2 weeks because they didn't get anough facial and heart anatomy scans. Has anyone else had a worry about this? I was tested when I was little and I am a carrier of the 13th chromosome. I'm worried something is wrong and they aren't telling me till they confirm it. My scan is in 3 days. Worries are high and my husband had been helping me stay distracted but it only works temporarily.

With my first I had to have a second scan. I don’t remember which parts were not clear but nothing was wrong. Baby just wasn’t in the right position to get what they wanted.

I had to have another scan with both of mine, this one literally had her arms in front of her face 😂

Just had my anatomy scan yesterday and it took the tech 45 minutes to get the face and heart scans they needed because our little one was just being super uncooperative 🤣 everything else was fairly easy but she just wouldn’t turn the right way to get those two shots. So could be nothing to worry about! They just need certain photos and babies don’t always love to pose how we need them to. Friend of my who works at our radiology clinic said they often have to call moms back to do a few more pictures because something is missing/baby didn’t cooperate full.

My doctor warned me before my scan that this was a possibility and not to worry. He said that because of Covid they don’t like people piling up in the waiting room so the appointments are shorter and they don’t go over the time anymore. He was right and they told me at the appointment that they wouldn’t have enough time to get it all so I go back next week for my second half!

I have to go back to get another scan in 3 weeks because they didn’t get good enough pictures of my son’s heart, he wasn’t in a good position. They stressed to me though there is no reason for concern, some babies are just uncooperative!

It's pretty common as it can be hard to get all the pictures they need depending on how the baby is lying and moving. I had to get a second as my baby was staying tucked in the same spot and their spine wasn't clear. They also had a possible club foot, which was confirmed, but we would have had to have another scan just for the spine anyway.

With my first I had to go for a second scan because they could get everything they wanted to see with her heart the first time. I think it can be common to have to get a second ultrasound. I know it can be nerve wracking though!
