Pregnancy and baby

Found out yesterday my baby boy is measuring ahead and his estimated weight is about 4 pounds 13 ounces. My S/O and I are considering asking our doctor for me to be induced. I would rather be on the safe side with baby and want to avoid a c section if absolutely possible. Neither side of our families have small babies and our first born was 8 pounds 10 ounces. So we are just wanting to take precautions.

Has anyone else requested induction and their doctors agree?
