I think the thing that should be taken into account when having children when you’re older is your health and if everything checks out, I don’t think it’s selfish at all. What I mean by that is how my dad had me when he was 48 and how it’s affected me and my sister. It was an accident and I wouldn’t call him selfish for it, but I will say that it has put struggle on me and my sister having to take care of him in our early 20s/late teens while we’re still trying to get our own lives sorted out and really don’t have the money or time to help

I think there’s a broad range of “40’s.” Is it selfish to have a baby at 49? I think so. But at 41, 42, 43, nah. As long as your health is fine, you have your life in order, stability, etc., I don’t think it’s selfish at all.
