Can you develop endometriosis?

Can you develop it or is it just something you're say born with?  If so, what are the symptoms? Help please I want to get some ideas before I see a doctor

I was started on the pill because my periods are so bad. Endometriosis runs in my family so there was no question when I said my periods were unbearable. Ovarian cysts can happen to anyone, making periods painful. However the pill has really worked for me. I have no pain now and my periods are much lighter.

I talked to my doctor about it amd she said the only cure is birth control or hysterectomy painful periods such as those that make you vomit or almost impossible to do things would be a good sign you have it

Endometriosis is when the tissue that's supposed to line the uterus is found elsewhere in your body.

It can start growing at any age, but typically begins during puberty. Some of the earliest symptoms are heavy and painful cycles.

There is a simple and minimally invasive surgery they can do to confirm a diagnosis and if you have it, they can try to remove the tissue at the same time. While it's not a cure, this can greatly reduce the symptoms for most women. Unfortunately, the tissue can grow back, there's no predicting if it will though.

Talking to your doctor is best, but it's a very easy thing to diagnose and treat, if not cure.
