Anxious when I’m not around

My daughter is 5, her great aunt said she’d like to get her a pretty dress and without thinking much I said, to go with her together as she loves to see pretty things. Now, I’m regretting it, I am anxious to let my LO go downtown alone with other family members. The reason for this is, I wonder if something bad happens if I’m not present. I guess, hearing all these stories about abductions, missing kids, etc is making me nervous. Then I start thinking of all the things that could go wrong. Do I need help? Am I being too overprotective?
