Advice from law enforcement ladies: trigger warning

I had a very awful childhood. My mom and her husband were extremely abusive physically and emotionally. They were also abusive to the animals. One of the animals even got taken away by animal control from being sliced with glass and left out in the snow after being beaten. My punishment as a child was to be forced to watch them harm an animal (stomping on their head, beating them to death etc.) now that I’m an adult I really want them to be held accountable. Is it too late? Is there anything I can do? It disgusts me how much they got away with because no one believed us as children or cared to listen. I’m done with people like that getting away with being so cruel
