Finally! He’s here!

Yesterday, April 15th @12:34pm I brought my first son into the world at 38w 5d! I am pretty proud of myself! I was scheduled for an induction on Wednesday but I had decreased fetal movement on Sunday and decided to go to the hospital to check on him. Everything was fine and they sent me home within an hour. By 6:30pm I started having inconsistent contractions that were super painful. I decided to try to sleep through them that night because I didn’t want to make 2 trips to the hospital in one day lol. Next morning (April 15th) I got woke up at 6:20ish by strong contractions. We got our kids to school and cleaned the house but the pain got pretty bad so my husband said we needed to go in finally. I got to the hospital shortly after 10am and discovered I was already almost 9cm dilated with a bulging water bag!! They let me labor down while my doctor finished up her appointments before coming to break my water at noon. She finally got here around 12:15 and offered me an epidural before breaking my water because she knew it would be really quick but lo and behold, I was already 10cm he just hadn’t descended on his own yet so she left the room and 3 contractions later my body started involuntarily pushing so I had her come back in and got him out in 3 pushes completely unmedicated!!! He came out 7lbs 9oz and 20 1/4in long! It was such a rush to experience this version of birth! I had a 2nd degree tear that needed a repair which was god awful but everything else was absolutely amazing! What a way to close the chapter of my childbearing years! 🥹
