Unemployed, married and depressed

Hi everyone!

I am not here to bother anyone with my “problem”. I just need someone to share it with. However, 6 months ago I got married and moved to another country. I live in Europe, so when it comes to a job everything gets complicated when you move. Different language, administration issues and so on. I met my husband in our home country and we decided to get married. At the time, I was working for a US company, had a nice salary, nice car, friends and all of my colleagues were really young. So work was real fun, sometimes I would go earlier just to spend more time with them. When I moved here with my husband, everything was different. It is a big city, with “lots” of opportunities, but I am not able to get a job. I speak 4 languages, have a college degree and I am fighting for a job which requires 0 qualifications. I have no family and friends here. I am starting to lose contact with my old friends because they all have their lives and do not have time for me. I am also not able to find friends here since I do not work and have minimum contact with other people. Trust me, I tried other ways to make friends, it is not going.

I love my husband, but I am starting to feel hatred towards him because he gets to socalize everyday, has a nice job and his life has not changed a lot. When he starts talking about his job I get jealous and grumpy. I feel really bad about it but can’t help it. I am not getting any support from my family, they just can’t understand the problem. I am starting to lose hair, I cry every single day and I can’t sleep properly. Since, this is a big beautiful city, I try to go out a lot and see it’s beauty. However, it used to comfort me before, but now it just gets worse when I see all of those people walking together, wearing nice outfits, having a coffee with friends, smiling, and then there’s me. Tiny and invisible. As a 26yr old extrovert it is taking a toll on my mental health.

Has anyone been through something similiar?
