Need advice!
I posted here once already about this so to update when i was 9 weeks pregnant i got my ultrasound done at an off site location. I waited a week and heard nothing from my OB regarding the scan so i followed up when i was 10 weeks because i knew she said she would order genetic screening blood work starting at 10 weeks and i wanted to discuss rescheduling my nuchal translucency scan for sooner since it was scheduled for past the 14 week cut off. I called for almost 2 weeks trying to get ahold of her and when she finally returned my call told me the blood work and nuchal translucency arent done until 16-18 weeks and she would not be rescheduling. She did however say she would order the lab work and mail me the lab slip. That day however i decided this was not the standard of care i wanted and would start the process of transferring OBs. I sent the medical release so they could fax my records to a new OB after another week of me calling and following up they still had not facilited this transfer. I decided to call this morning because if they wouldn't do what needed to be done I'd do it myself. I told them id be coming to get a physical copy of my records and deliver the records myself and while i was there id like the slip for my labs since i hadnt recieved it in the mail yet. They proceeded to tell me its UNETHICAL for them to order blood work and scans they can't monitor since i was looking to leave that my next appointment and any and all labs have been canceled even though i was NOT established with a new practice yet. Even though i specifically told them not to cancel my appointments until i had my new OB set up. So they essentially wasted 3 weeks of my time delayed my care all to in the end leave me without prenatal care. Honestly is this even legal what they did here? Should i speak with an attorney? Im absolutely distraught over this and looking for some advice.
