CD 22: Gush of blood then nothing!?

TMI because I showed the amount of blood. My period calendar is also here for reference. I’ve never had this happen to me and it’s freaking me out!

Back story, I’ve been on a TTC journey almost a year now. Last night I went to the bathroom and went to wipe when I saw all this blood. It freaked me out since I’m not expecting my period and if my period is coming then I spot, not gush unless I’m right on 28 CD. I figured well if it is my period I’ll put on a pad. The thing is I stopped bleeding after this.. I haven’t even needed a panty liner.. I thought maybe it was from me trying check my cervix to see if open or closed about a hour or so prior but I’ve never had this happen in the past.

So I guess I’m asking a few things, has this happened to anyone else? What was it for you? Could this be implantation cause of course I googled it and it says maybe but I don’t trust it and would like to know other’s experiences. If it is implantation then I’m thinking I’ll wait to take a test and see if I bleed later.
