I’m 21 for context here - up until now, I’ve given about 5 blowjobs with no complaints, but 2 of those were high school relationships (aka very little experience for the receivers). Regardless, I’ve only been told good things - that is, until yesterday.

I recently started dating my guy best friend who I’m pretty sure loves me (long story) and it finally came time for me to give him a blowjob. I think maybe he overhyped my skills or something because I never said I was phenomenal… anyway he just really did not seem into it and I kept having to ask if it was okay and he would say yes but he very obviously just wasn’t loving it.

At one point he did tell me to go slower (apparently I was going too fast lol) which I tried to do. He still didn’t finish and we gave up, and I later on asked him what I could’ve done better. I was shocked that he said it felt “scripted” and like I wasn’t enjoying it (which isn’t true, I really love giving head, I just didn’t think he was enjoying it so I guess I wasn’t either). I’m not sure how to fix that? And about going too fast, is this a common complaint? I didnt think I was? So is it different when the guy really likes you vs a hookup? Or is this just a new preference I haven’t come across?
