Thoughts on Marek? And middle name options

We are leaning towards using Marek for our baby boy. I like that it’s not too common in the US and my husband is Czech and it works well in both languages.
Thoughts on this name?? Also looking for middle names that flow well with it!

It reminds me of the original buddy the vampire slayer movie with Christie Swanson. He was the trainer. I like it!

Is that the traditional spelling in Czech? I don’t love it spelled that way tbh, Merrick is good though!

I have a nephew named Merrick. I think it's a cute name personally. As for middle names just find one you like that flows with the whole name.
