Did trying for specific babies gender work for you?

I know this might bring on little bit of hate, but I'm asking this out of curiosity. In no way I'm disapointed or unhappy of my kids gender. Together with my husband we've got 3 boys, for me it's always been a dream to have 4 children. It seems that husband has started to be attracted of the idea of trying for the 4 th baby (this will be our last baby as I intend to have my tubes tied after this), but same as he I'm dreaming of a little girl. He was quite suprised when we had a third boy in row as the third pregnancy was completly different than with first two boys, so he was convinced it was a girl. We love our baby boy to bits and we wouldn't change a thing even so.

I know that gender is 50/50 and some of the old wives tales tell you different things on how to achieve this and that, yet I'm not believing that anything of it works. So I wanted to ask your experience, did you try for specific gender, did it work or no? What did you try? As I mentioned, this is out of curiosity and we'll be happy with any outcome, so please no hate to any of the comunity members, I'll just delete any hate comments.
