Opinions?

I was on the phone with my boyfriend of 4 years when he suddenly asked if I got paid today. I told him I didn't know because I don't regularly check my bank account. We're both in our twenties and still live with our parents. He then urged me to check my account, so I did. When he asked how much I got paid, I said it was a secret since I didn't understand why he needed to know. He thought that was strange and became quiet and distant. The call ended due to a connection issue on my end. Ten minutes later, I called him back to check if everything was okay. He was short and cold, saying we were fine, but then he ended the call, which he never does. What should I do? What are your opinions?
