What car do you drive > only yours no family car >

We are 5 in our home , we have a mini van , my husband doesn't use our second car because he uses hes work van and when hes not working he uses the family van . So im a Caregiver and i told my husband " hey babe since we dont use the second car how about we sell it and what ever much we get for it .can it be possible if i can buy a fiat or a small car only for me "? . He says yes but now my family is saying its a waste of money . That i cant fit my kids in the car that we cant go out as a family , the whole deal of getting a small car is for me to use for work and back and when i run errands alone . Yes i can use the van but i dont want to leave our kids without the van .they dont fit in our second car .the second car is big and i dont like driving it
