Am I Safe?

I got my Nexplanon implant 3 weeks ago, first time getting any implant. My husband’s birthday is coming up this weekend and since I have this birth control I was thinking of us not using protection this weekend. My doctor told me to wait a month but my friend was told a week. So I was wondering if any of y’all have any advice that’s had nexplanon longer.

Btw I got the implant on day 3 of a 4 day period. I’ve been spotting for about 2.5 weeks but it’s finally subsiding.
