Toddler colorblind?

When did you know or find out your child is colorblind? My son is just over 2 years old and keeps mixing up red and green and purple and blue. I can’t tell if we just need to work on his colors more or if he’s actually colorblind.

Any colourblindness in the family? Sounds like pretty classic deuteranopia. Help him by labeling the colours, like a leaf for the green, heart for the red, sky for the blue and so on (afterwards change to the written colourname) and limit the numbers of colours available.

My son was super smart in a lot of areas at that age but he got his colors mixed up for quite awhile. I also wondered if he was color blind but hes 10 now and hes not.

I wouldn't be concerned about it yet. I would keep practicing. I read something about colours being easier for kids when you label things "the ball that is blue" vs "the blue ball". It helped my son a lot
