Cervical checks

This is my 5th pregnancy so I have had my fair share of cervical checks… today I had a gush of fluids and went into L&D to get checked. The swab was negative and the nurse proceeded to check me since I am 37+5 days. There was quite a bit of pressure but nothing more than usual. This happened at like 12:00 ever since I have been in excruciating pain. My stomach won’t stop cramping and it just constantly hurting. I also feel like I am sick to my stomach and could puke but haven’t yet. I have been a little crampy before after a check but nothing ever like this… I have not had anymore gush of fluids or bleeding. I’m currently in bed @ 7:00 because I can’t stand it anymore and decided to lay down to try to sleep. My husband thinks maybe it’s the start of labor but I’m unsure. Has anyone been in this much pain after a cervical check?

* I had just had a checkup 6 days ago and didn’t feel anything like this after. I’m currently still 2cm and 60% effaced

* the OB on call did inform us that the monitor showed I was contracting but it wasn’t very much and was very spaced out.
