Too early to test?

Has anyone tested 4 days before missed period and it is negative? I have so many symptoms that make me believe I could be pregnant but I tested in the morning with two different test (clear blue & premom test) and both were very negative. Kind of discouraging cause I got pregnant right away with my other two kids. I know I’m not out until my cycle starts but just curious if this has happened to anyone else and then a few days later maybe we’re positive?
