How to deal with gender disappointment?

I’m only 6W and don’t know the gender yet. I have 5 girls and really want a boy. I never cared until this time. I think it’s because it’s our last. I have been so thrilled with every girl but I know if it’s another girl I will finally understand gender disappointment and I will feel beyond guilty but I know I won’t be able to help it. I just feel it’s another girl. The only difference in symptoms is I’m a little nauseous at times and dizziness like crazy. So I just feel it’s another girl. How did you deal with gender disappointment? I want to be prepared.

It honestly is short lived. You get a lil teary and hormonal. Maybe a lil eh for a couple days. But i mean the goal is to bring a human not a specific gender into the world lol. if it does end up bothering you more than expected, no shame in talking to a therapist to work through it.

Let yourself feel it, then move forward. It may take a few days and may hit again here and there but it doesn't last. I was hoping my 4th would be a brother for my son but she's a 3rd girl. I was a bit disappointed but he adores her and now I can't imagine it another way

I second what the first commenter said. It’s short lived. You just have to let yourself go through the motions. It won’t last & you will get through it. Don’t invalidate your feelings either.
